The Power of Produce (PoP) Kids Club is an important component of CFM’s mission to connect the community with local growers and to impart a greater awareness of how and where our food originates. The POP Club seeks to transform kids into market participants with educational activities and interactions with their local food growers, and challenges them to try fresh market prmoduce. POP club participation (for kids ages 4-12) is a win-win for parents and children alike. Parents witness kids’ light bulb moments as they interact with activities, food, and practices that champion a healthy lifestyle. Kids learn while having fun, with the added bonus of becoming active market members. Empowered by the wooden $2 tokens they receive at the CFM booth, they are encouraged to peruse the market and shop for their edible take-home treasures.
