Art at the Market

Each week of the 2023 Season, Carnation Farmers Market presented all-ages interactive art experiences to the general public. CFM Resident Artist & Mentor Joe Lee Davidson and Market staff coordinated these free drop-in activities, which were facilitated and taught by Joe Lee and other guest artists including Paula Strobel, Sarah Rainwater, and Rachele Ravenscroft. Projects included both community art and make-and-take artwork, and used a variety of media such as paint, pen-and-ink, alcohol ink diffusion, chalk, brushes, paint-spinning wheel, foraged natural items, jewelry-making materials, paper, chalkboards, and fabric. Check out some of the market-goer art from 2023 Season on CFM’s Facebook page!

2023 Art at the Market was made possible with a Sustained Support Grant from 4Culture; the Alan M. Painter Grant Program from King County Local Services – Community Service Areas Program; and other community support including individual donations, sponsorships from local businesses and organizations, and the work of dedicated volunteers.

Stay tuned for more art opportunities in 2024!
